Join GK for another episode of A History of the King James Bible Podcast. In this episode we meet the translators of the First Oxford Company whose job it was to translate from Isaiah to Malachi. This is is part A of a two part series on the First Oxford Company. In part A we discuss some of the greatest minds among the translators, one of them so well versed in antique languages he rivals the skills of the grand Lancelot Andrewes himself. We find that some of the better scholars on the First Oxford’s panel were chosen by the Anglican hierarchy for their skills despite the fact that they were Puritans.
